    Welcome to

Drill Abnormal Pressure Safely
This is a free course for all interested.  To begin, simply click "Lesson 1" (see left column).

This course is based on Leo J. McClure's (of Exxon fame) Course which has been attended by drilling engineers from every major oil company and service contractor. McClure's geologic approach is unique and more accurate than other approaches. Ralph W. Baird worked closely with McClure to add sophisticated geophysical techniques and a broader array case histories based on his personal work in most oil basins. Included are special cases of deep-water, sub-salt, over-thrust and anhydrate/carbonates.

This on-line course is introductory by design and does not replace the more comprehensive in-classroom school available through Baird Petrophysical/McClure. For those that require competence-level training, Baird/McClure can proposed a work program on actual wells in a collaborative-apprentice environment. We have found this the only way to truly transfer a great deal of experience and knowledge to the next generation
